Team 2006-2007

Amanda

Amanda, 20, Alberta, Canada

"After spending such a wonderful year here in Scotland, I decided to come back to continue encouraging the local young people to grow in their faith. It brings me much joy to see all the positive impact we have. The friendships that were made here with people of all ages are so important to me that I thought I'd come back to nourish them. I look forward to deepening all the relationships that were started, to making new ones and to working more in the schools and parishes. With new team members, refreshing, exciting and new ideas, this year is sure to be another great year for me in Scotland!"

ChrisChris, 23, North Carolina, USA

"Hey there! My name is Chris Owens, and I am from Raleigh, North Carolina in the USA! I am 23 years old. I guess the reason that I am passionate about working with youth is that I was that age when I first became really active in my faith. During that time, I had some absolutely amazing people that helped me to grow in my relationship with Jesus, and I don't know what I would be doing today if it weren't for their influence in my life. I am excited about my time in Scotland this year, because I think it will be a great chance to really spend some time getting to know the youth and grow together with them and the community that I will be a part of.
When I am not doing youth ministry or other programs in my home parish, I sing barbershop music, play football and lacrosse, and am a scout leader. I love to spend any free time I have in the outdoors! Whether it's riding my bike, whitewater kayaking, or rock climbing during the warmer months; or snowboarding and backpacking in the winter months, I just love to be outside! I think that spending that kind of time away from the business of the world is one of the best ways to be able to listen and discern God's call for your life, as well as appreciate the creations He has given us!"

Jessica

Jessica, 19, Alberta, Canada

"Hello, I'm Jessica, commonly shortened to Jess. I was born and raised a small town in southern Alberta, Canada. I was brought up in a medley of churches until my family's conversion in 1996. God and matters of faith always enticed me, and so I attended a Catholic Bible School where I heard about Living Water. Last September I joined the team. I had such a great experience last year, that I felt compelled to return!
Thats right! I am back for another year with Living Water. And the adventure continues!
This past year was just so amazing that I couldn't stay away. I have had a blast making new friends and meeting wonderful Scottish folk!
Now, with a new team and new adventures to be had, we are up and running again. My prayer is that this year will be as fulfilling as the last. I continue to trust in God to be my strength as I take up the challenges that this year brings. I look forward to seeing everything that God has in store for us all."

Nicole

Nicole, 21, Alberta, Canada

"After completing post secondary education this past year, I was definitely equipped to start a job in the city where I was living. Yet, I felt called to do something more than start a job and live in my comfort zone. I felt called to give a year in service to God and His people. After looking at different options, I decided to apply to join the Living Water team. I had dreamed of coming to Scotland since I was a little girl, and what better way to experience a country than by serving in it?
I am very much looking forward to my time here, and can't wait to see and meet all the young people of this new place that I feel welcome to call home."
